The United States maintains diplomatic posts around the world to support its relations with other countries and their people. This diplomatic posts or missions are groups of people from United States present in another country for the sake of representing America in the receiving state. In practice, the U.S. Embassy diplomatic missions usually denote the permanent presence in the capital city of another country.

In most countries with which it has diplomatic relations, the U.S. holds an American Embassy located in the host country capital. The U.S. also may have consulates in other large commercial centers or in dependencies of the country. The Embassy of the U.S. usually consists of diplomats and foreign policy officers maintained by the government of a country to communicate with the governments of other countries. This is the best diplomatic way to establish and maintain partnership with friendly countries in many important questions like greater democracy, stability, economic growth and prosperity throughout the world, fight with terrorism and promotion of respect to human rights.

The representatives of American Embassy in every country fit the U.S. interests to those countries’s situation and form work patterns suitable for specific country. There is a list of most common questions that the U.S. Embassy considers every day in all countries. These are Commercial, Economic, and Financial Affairs questions, Agricultural and Scientific Matters, Political, Labor, and Defense Assistance Issues, Administrative Support and Security Functions, Public Affairs.

Legal and Immigration Matters are not less important. American Embassy Consular officers provide emergency loans to U.S. citizens, who fell in trouble while traveling abroad, re-issue lost or stolen passports and generally provide many types of assistance to U.S. citizens abroad. Consular officers also perform non-emergency services - acquisition and loss of U.S. citizenship; providing U.S. tax forms; notarizing documents; issuing passports; and processing estate and property claims. U.S. consular officers also issue about 6 million nonimmigrant visas annually to foreign nationals who wish to visit, work or study in the United States and almost 500,000 immigrant visas to those who wish to reside here permanently.

Any citizen of non-U.S. country that wishes to enter the United States to reside there permanently, whether or not that person plans to seek employment in the United States, must acquire an immigration visa. There are three major ways to get a U.S. Green Card which grants you the right to live and work in the U.S. legally: an employer sponsors you; you married a United States citizen lawfully; participating in the U.S. Green Card Lottery program.
